We Talked About Travel And Mental Illness...

Last Sunday, my friend from way back, Siegna, and I had a discussion on travel, mental illness, and healing.

We became friends in high school, and ended up renting an apartment together during our sophomore year of college at Georgia State University.

It was during that time that I became aware of Siegna's mental illness and we've both grown a LOT sense.

Siegna shared her story, including that incident that first shined a light on what she was dealing with for the first time publicly last year.

Reading it was oddly therapeutic for me. Not even sure she realized it until I told her. You can check it out here, if you'd like.

Siegna is now a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor and it was awesome to have a conversation with her about travel, mental illness and healing.

She's remarkable.

She's transparent in her healing.

She spends her life helping others heal.

Mental illness isn't always a topic that people feel comfortable discussing, so I'm appreciative of all that we discussed and shared.

The video is in two parts (mainly because I forgot to charge my phone and it died during our live broadcast.) But if you have the time, it's worth watching.

And if you know someone living with mental illness, feel free to share.

Alright, off to get Dane ready for a nap.
