Before She Turned 15, She Already Made History
I'm about a year+ late, but it doesn't matter, because I know now!
I love to read, and so do my daughters, and I'm always on the lookout for a good book, especially one we can read together.
So when I came across an article about Essynce Moore, a now 15 year old Black teenager, author, and entrepreneur, who last May 2017 released her third book in her "Middle School Chronicles", I had to buy it and I had to share. Moore first released her series back in 2015, with an aim to offer a relatable perspective for younger teens for navigating middle school and the self esteem journey, bullying, and need to fit in.
In May 2017, Moore completed the trilogy, and in September of 2017, Moore made history when she became the first African American teen author whose work is now mandatory readings for several school district curricula including Hillside, NJ School District, Brooklyn, NY Charter Schools, and Orange, NJ.
Moore continues to push past boundaries through her motivational speaking engagements, her fashion design and other entrepreneurial pursuits, and her acting. You can find her books on Amazon and you can keep up with her latest endeavors at her Essynce Couture site.
This girl is inspiring! I've been trying to write an ebook for MONTHS, meanwhile, she's writing whole books each year.
I'm not mad at it though.
But yeah, definitely inspired.
Looking forward to reading this with my girls. :)
If you end up reading it, send me a note- christine@christinedco.com. Would love to hear from you.
